Laura & Mike

Cook Mansion
Montour Falls, New York
7.21.17

I was invited to photograph Laura and Mike’s gorgeous little wedding at the foot of Montour Falls. The evening light, spiraled seating for the ceremony and the sweet bride and groom made the wedding just perfect. I loved the Cook Mansion interior and grounds, one of my favorite places in Central New York! The natural themed wedding with pretty wildflowers and birch wood slabs was a dream. Here are some of my favorites photos!

Lovely Summer Wedding

After photographing weddings in Central New York, I have learned that the weather can be a bit unpredictable. After a cloudy and slightly wet afternoon, the sun came out during Laura and Mikes’s outdoor meadow ceremony. It was obvious that luck was on their side!

Laura and Mike said their “I do’s” surrounded in a spiral by their closes family and friends at the foot of Montour Falls. The falls made such a beautiful backdrop for this wedding. Wildflowers decorated with baby’s breath surrounded the area. When it was Mike’s turn to say his vows, he burst into song singing is written vows. Laura beamed lovingly at him. For months the couple had been taking dance classes for their first dance to surprise their guests. As Mike swooped Laura low into a kiss, the onlookers oohed and clapped their delight. I won’t lie, I teared up just a little bit behind the camera lens as Laura’s fathered held her close for the father daughter dance and sang sweetly to her, expressing his love and joy at her being his daughter.

I had such a blast spending the day with this lovely couple and their families. I wish them the best of luck in their future adventures and hope they enjoy the photos for decades to come! 🙂

Lovely Details

wedding photography

Some of the best parts of a wedding day is in the thoughtful details and beautiful wedding rings! I love the chance to capture their design and vision in stunning photography. This close up of the wedding rings was a fun challenge in the desert of Lancaster, CA. The ceremony took place in a green hamlet surrounded by the shrubs and dust of the high desert. I used the lovely fresh flower decorations to stage the rings and photographed it with my macro lens.

Emmy & Josh

Nashville Wedding photography

Alan Jackson Sweetbriar Estate
Nashville, TN

We had a lovely opportunity to capture the special day of Emmy and Josh at the Sweetbriar Estate in Nashville, TN. We provided wedding photography for this lovely Nashville wedding.

The wedding took place on the banks of a little lake surrounded by young willow trees and they said their “I dos” as the afternoon light dipped into the golden hour. The singer/songwriter bride sang her groom a song she wrote just for the occasion. The reception took place at the foot of a large stone slab outdoor fireplace. The mother-of-the-bride baked the lovely wedding cake and all the siblings helped with decorations, hanging lights and flowers. It was a gorgeous little ceremony and celebration and we were so happy to be apart of their day and we hope they enjoy these photos!

Beach Wedding

Florida

I took a winding road trip down to Florida for Ashley and Jeff’s wedding day! I loved the time we got to spend with them and their family! The first day was a family and friends celebration for Ashley and Jeff at their beach chateau. The ceremony took place on the beach with the breaking waves as the backdrop. The wedding day morning was stormy with bouts of wind and rain and we hunkered down to wait it out. The clouds broke briefly and the sun streamed through and the whole wedding party walked to the beach. As the bride and groom said their “I dos” their closest family and friends smiled and wept joyful tears.

I had such a blast spending the day with this lovely couple and their families. I wish them the best of luck in their future adventures and hope they enjoy the photos for decades to come! 🙂
